Being Muslim in today’s world can sometimes feel like holding onto a burning coal — just as the Prophet ﷺ described. Every day brings new challenges, distractions, and temptations pulling us further from what truly matters. For many of us, faith isn’t lost in an instant; it fades quietly, hidden beneath the noise of life. This blog, and the journey ahead, is my way of fighting back — of holding on, reflecting, and reminding myself and others that even when faith feels distant, it’s never gone.
“Sometimes, the hardest battles are the ones no one sees — the ones within your own heart.”
Finding Myself Through Struggle
I never set out to write a book. I set out to understand myself. Growing up in the West, being Muslim has felt like trying to stay steady in a storm — constantly being pushed and pulled between faith and desire. I’ve stumbled, doubted, and fallen short more times than I can count. But those moments of weakness also became moments of clarity. They taught me that struggling doesn’t make you a hypocrite; it makes you human.
I’m not a scholar. I’m not perfect. I’m just someone trying to stay grounded while navigating a world that makes that harder every day. Writing has become my mirror — a way to talk to myself when my faith feels heavy and my heart feels distant.

Why I Chose to Share This Battle
A Battle Within isn’t about perfection; it’s about honesty. It’s about admitting that sometimes faith feels far and temptation feels close — yet still choosing to hold on. These words are reminders I needed to hear, and I pray they reach others who need them too.
Outside of faith, I’m a regular college student — balancing classes, work, family, and sports like basketball and soccer. But beneath all that, there’s always been a deeper question: How do I stay connected to Allah when the world keeps trying to disconnect me?
That question became my motivation. Not because I had the answers, but because I wanted to search for them — with you.
This is not just my story; it’s our story. Every believer faces moments where faith feels fragile, but even in those moments, Allah’s mercy is near. My hope is that through this series, you’ll find pieces of your own journey reflected in mine. Together, we can learn to hold on — not perfectly, but sincerely.
So, welcome to A Battle Within: The inner struggle of faith and desire. This is where the journey begins — a reminder that no matter how far you drift, Allah is always waiting for you to return.
