First and foremost, let us thank Allah for guiding us to Islam. Just being Muslim is an immense blessing — one that sets us on the path to victory in this life and the next.
Rasulullah ﷺ reminded us of Allah’s mercy when he said:
“Every human being is a sinner, and the best of sinners are those who repent.”
— Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 2499
If you’re struggling with a sin — whatever it may be — take a moment and say Alhamdulillah.
Why?
Because the very fact that you’re aware of your mistake, that you feel guilt or discomfort in your heart, is a sign that your faith is alive. It means your soul still longs for what is right, still desires Allah’s forgiveness, and still recognizes its Lord.
So don’t despair when you fall short.
“Say, ‘O My servants who have transgressed against themselves, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.’”
— Surah Az-Zumar (39:53)
Instead, turn to Allah with humility. Ask for forgiveness sincerely, and trust that He will respond. Pray for the strength to overcome your weaknesses and the patience to stay consistent in your repentance.

Remember, Allah is Ar-Rahman (the Most Merciful) and Ar-Raheem (the Most Compassionate). He sees your efforts, hears your prayers, and knows your struggles — even the ones no one else sees.
Sometimes, it’s easy to feel unworthy — to think, “How can Allah forgive me after everything I’ve done?” But that thought itself is a trick of Shaytan. Allah’s mercy is far greater than our sins. What matters most is that we never give up trying.
The Power of Repentance
Repentance doesn’t mean you’ll never sin again; it means that each time you fall, you return — again and again — until your heart finds peace. Every time you say Astaghfirullah with sincerity, you polish your heart just a little more.
So say Alhamdulillah for the awareness that pulls you back, for the faith that refuses to die, and for a Lord who never turns away from those who seek Him.
May Allah make us among those who constantly repent, who strive to improve, and who never lose hope in His mercy.
Ameen.
